Georgette has worked in marketing throughout her career in various sectors, starting in education at University College, Scarborough (then affiliated to Leeds University) where she was responsible for launching and promoting the college’s first modular degrees which changed the college status from a purely teacher training college.  

Following that she worked for Pindar plc providing marketing and sales support and creating CRM systems to improve and maintain customer relationships nationwide. This role also included successfully applying for EU tender applications and managing ongoing contractual relationships.  

Georgette then moved to the FMCG sector for 10 years, working in brand management for Westler Foods. This role involved close monitoring of sector trends and customer and product research, effectively managing the whole of the product life cycle from concept, development and launch through to promotion, branding and ongoing quality assurance.  

She changed career direction in 2008 by becoming the marketing manager for Scarborough Museums Trust, responsible for marketing and audience development for the Scarborough Art Gallery and Rotunda Museum. Now in the arts sector she took a keen interest in audience segmentation and developed several partnership relationships as well as helped manage the Trust’s fundraising events.  

Georgette joined the Stephen Joseph Theatre as Head of Communications in 2013. She has seen significant changes in the past five years including changing the title to Marketing & Sales Director and the organisation more generally becoming much more patron-centred thanks to support from Spektrix and TRG.
