Claire Will is currently Director of Marketing and Communications at the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester. She has 20 years’ experience in arts marketing in both theatre and the visual arts. She worked in audience development, press and communications roles at Sheffield Theatres under Director, Michael Grandage in the early 2000’s. Following this she was part of the team who reopened the award-winning Weston Park Museum in Sheffield, leading on the press campaign. She then was the lead Communications Officer for the Yorkshire branch of Renaissance in the Regions, a new vision for the region’s museums.
As Head of Marketing at Contact Theatre in Manchester from 2008 – 2012, Claire headed up a team of 4 working on campaigns and audience development initiatives. Now as Director of Marketing and Communications for the Royal Exchange (Regional Theatre of the Year, 2016) Claire leads a team of 13, including Box Office staff on sales, PR, branding, audience development and data development. In the 6 years she has been with the organisation she has launched a new brand visual identity and new website, diversified audiences and increased Box Office income and ticket yield to its highest ever value.
