AMA members work in the arts, culture and heritage sector, helping organisations reach and develop audiences through the audience-focused approach that marketing and communications brings.
About AMA Membership
We help our members develop skills, we help their organisations change and adapt. We provide support and resources, and facilitate shared learning through our community and across the UK.
Membership provides you with the benefits of:
- Free training webinars across the year – typically more than 20 per year
- Discounts on workshops, and other AMA events
- Free regional networking meetings – typically two per region a year
- Access to Affinity Groups – new for 2023
- Access to member-only research reports and updates
- Searchable listing (where relevant to your membership type): Freelancer Directory and Service Provider Hub – Directory, Reviews and Resource listings
Plus you’ll be part of a UK-wide community of members, representing over 600 organisations.

Which membership is right for you?
The AMA offers a range of options to make membership as accessible as possible. You can join as an individual member or with your team.
Individual membership
Memberships for your circumstances or role:
- Between Jobs
- Freelancer
- Individual
Individual membership is free if you are between jobs, but otherwise starts from £70 exc VAT per year. All individuals get the standard benefits, and freelance individual members also get a listing in our Freelancer Directory.
To make membership affordable, we have staggered the costs for those starting out and those more established. When picking an individual membership, please pick the membership option which matches your current job title.

Team Membership
Take out team membership and give everyone in your team access to AMA member benefits.
We offer a membership option for Small Organisations, and a membership option for Medium to Large Organisations.
Please contact us if you would like to become a member
Standard Team
If you’re an organisation with more than 10 employees, Standard Team Membership provides all the standard benefits for anyone in your team, for £450 exc VAT.
This rate applies to organisations that have 4 sites or fewer. If you are a group of 5 or more companies/sites operating as one organisation, you may not be eligible – please contact us for details of the right rate for you.
Small Organisation
If your organisation has 10 or fewer employees and either less than £632,000 annual turnover, OR £316,000 or less on its balance sheet (a.k.a. what HMRC calls a ‘micro-entity’), you can get a Small Organisation Team Membership.
If you’re not sure if you qualify, drop us a line and we can check for you: membership@a-m-a.co.uk.
Service Provider
If you provide a service to the sector – for instance ticketing, agency/consultancy, print, design, etc. – then the Service Provider Membership is tailored for you. You can still get a Small or Standard version of membership, and the price remains the same – but it also allows you to add content relating to your business to the AMA Service Provider Hub.
I’ve joined, now what?
Once you’ve joined, you’ll get a welcome email and confirmation with a link so you can set your password and start accessing your benefits. You’ll get a follow-up email to help you get started in finding your way around, introduce your local regional associate, and more.
Please make sure you set your mailing preferences and areas of interest, so you hear about what’s relevant to you.
If you’re taking out a Team Membership, your welcome email will explain how to add people to your membership (or how they can add themselves).
Got questions?
