William Norris Arts Management
Thanks for clicking through! So, a little more about me:
My career prior to going freelance included ten years at the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, where I led marketing, communications and creative programming, including developing the ground-breaking audience development series The Night Shift. I’ve also spent time in Canada, as Managing Director of Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and as Managing Director of the UK’s Southbank Sinfonia.
With marketing my background I’d say my specialism is in enabling organisations to think differently about who their audiences are and how best to reach them, breaking out of the routine we so often find ourselves in, and in developing products and artistic offerings with an audience in mind, rather than retro-fitting an audience to an existing project, not to say that isn’t also possible!
Recent clients include: Sage Gateshead, Scottish Ensemble, Dante or Die, Her Ensemble, Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra (USA), Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, Loose Tea Music Theatre (Canada), Daylight Music, EMDR Association UK and the European Union Youth Orchestra.
Whether your project is large or small, music or not, I’d love to hear from you, so do drop me a line.William Norris
