I’m Lisa Jackson, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM) and founder of Acorn Marketing – a consultancy based in Cumbria specialising in outsourced and fractional marketing for visitor attractions, arts organisations and cultural venues.

With nearly 25 years in the industry, my roots are firmly in the arts and cultural sector. I spent four years as Marketing & Communications Manager at Walk the Plank, one of the UK’s leading outdoor theatre and pyrotechnic companies, before moving to The Beatles Story in Liverpool as Marketing Team Leader, helping grow audiences for one of the country’s most iconic visitor attractions. That experience shaped everything I do today.

Since founding Acorn Marketing in 2011, I’ve worked with theatres, arts organisations, visitor attractions, destinations and tourism businesses across the UK. Clients include Carnegie Theatre, Walby Farm Park, Winter Droving, Penrith Town Council and the Ullswater Association, among others.

What I offer is essentially a senior marketing manager on a retainer basis – without the cost of a full-time hire. I work with a small number of clients at a time, which means you get proper attention, genuine strategic thinking and someone who genuinely cares about your organisation’s success. Clients often describe me as their “business best friend” and I take that as a compliment.

My services include marketing strategy and planning, campaign management, content, PR, digital, social media, audience development and mentoring for in-house teams or business owners. I also offer one-off strategy sessions for organisations who want clarity and a clear plan but aren’t ready for ongoing support.

I’m straight-talking, jargon-free and genuinely passionate about the arts. If you’re a cultural organisation that needs senior marketing expertise but doesn’t have the budget or need for a full-time appointment, I’d love to have a conversation.
