Ioannis Ioannou – Marketing, Branding and Creative Placemaking Consultant
As the Head of Marketing and Engagement at Creative Folkestone, he devised and delivered successful marketing campaigns for Folkestone Triennial, Folkestone Artworks, Creative Quarter, Quarterhouse and Book Festival, transforming the way the organisation presents itself and communicates with diverse audiences, and making Creative Folkestone an example of best practice, nationally and internationally, for creatively led regeneration.
Before that, he delivered the audience development strategy that achieved an 80% increase in visitor, events and participant numbers at The New Art Gallery Walsall in the West Midlands. At the beginning of his career, he delivered the learning and outreach programme at Paisley Museum and Art Galleries, and oversaw the programme of exhibitions and activities at Coats Observatory and Renfrew Museum, in Scotland.
He is currently a freelance consultant working with a number of arts organisations, such as OneDegreeEast, Bedford Creative Arts, AoiEsteban and the Horizon consortium, which consists of Battersea Arts Centre (London), Dance 4 (Nottingham), Fierce (Birmingham), GIFT (Gateshead), MAYK (Bristol) and Transform (Leeds).Ioannis Ioannou
