Finbarre Snarey | Arts and Culture Journalist
I am an independent arts and culture journalist based in Nottinghamshire. I work mainly on long-form interviews and written pieces with artists, writers, musicians, and other creative practitioners.
My work focuses on giving people space to talk thoughtfully about their work, influences, and creative process, rather than producing promotional copy. I run two interview projects, Tarot Interviews and Tarot DMs, which explore creativity through aleatory-based conversations.
Alongside journalism, I work with arts organisations, festivals, and cultural projects on research, writing, and digital content. This can include background research, editorial support, documentation, and helping organisations present their work clearly and responsibly.
I am comfortable working independently or as part of a small team, and I am used to working remotely as well as in person. I am particularly interested in contemporary arts, publishing, music, and cultural heritage, and I value clear communication, care, and respect when working with people and their stories.
