I’m a marketing and audience development consultant, facilitator and trainer with over 20 years’ experience, specialising in working with museums, heritage sites and cultural venues.
I work with organisations to identify and understand audiences; entice, engage and connect with audiences; and thereby support organisational resilience and growth. This includes:
- creating marketing strategies and audience development plans with a clear framework and actionable recommendations;
- running in-person and online training on a range of topics relating to marketing and audience development;
- facilitating engaging workshops that enable every voice to be heard and insight to be considered by the group, for example on audience journey mapping, project reflection, developing a mission statement or tone of voice;
- undertaking research and evaluation to provide insights and inform decision-making.
Client experience includes the Association of Independent Museums (AIM), the Science Museum Group, Arts Marketing Association, Jane Austen’s House, American Library, Museum of London, Norwich Historic Churches Trust, Stratford Circus Arts Centre, the Museum of Cambridge, Norfolk Record Office, China Exchange, TEG (The Touring Exhibitions Group), Social Enterprise Academy, SHARE Museums East, Babylon ARTS, and Harwich Electric Palace.
I’m the author of the book Marketing Strategy for Museums, published by Routledge in December 2023. My work has won a range of marketing and communications awards and I’m a previous National Freelancer of the Year Runner-up.Christina Lister
