Catharine Walston offers a professional support service both to in-house publications, press and development departments and to small arts organisations without their own media teams to ensure the highest quality digital communications and published materials.
My skill set covers a full range of editorial services: copy-editing, proofreading, picture research, commissioning of photography, indexing. I am happy to undertake research, drawing on extensive archive experience. Flexibility can be very important where more complicated projects require multi-stakeholder liaison, so I will undertake commissions involving travel. Writing press releases, talking to journalists and managing social media accounts are time-consuming for small organisations so I will happily add to my existing PR commitments. I have a keen awareness of budgets and an excellent eye for detail and creative design.
My clients range from PhD students needing help with their thesis, to academic institutions wanting illustrated printed and digital histories, and national and international museums and galleries producing books and catalogues.
