Subtitling Digital Content

10 February, 2022 @ 11:00 am 12:30 pm

Live Webinar

This webinar will explore why subtitling is important, and how to do it well. It will help you incorporate subtitling and deaf accessibility into your work.

More work and content is presented and accessed online than ever before. Subtitles are a crucial aspect of your digital provision. They improve accessibility and widen the range of audiences you can reach and engage with.

This session will:

  • Offer a background of deaf awareness and the demographics of deaf audiences
  • Identify the benefits of subtitling — both to deaf audiences and the wider public
  • Outline how subtitles are used by viewers and their impact on engagement
  • Explore subtitling best practice — from formatting text to dealing with music
  • Provide time to have your questions answered

To make the most of the Q&A, please consider your past subtitling provision and the challenges you faced, both in the typing and the implementation of subtitling as policy.

Who will benefit the most from this session?

This session is suitable for anyone that needs help with subtitling.
