- Identify the benefits of subtitling — both to deaf audiences and the wider public
- Outline how subtitles are used by viewers and their impact on engagement
- Explore subtitling best practice — from formatting text to dealing with music

Oli graduated Durham University in 2015 and took his first job in marketing, where he then decided that he really wanted to work in the arts. As along-time user of captions and subtitles, when a job opening came up at Stagetext in 2017 he knew that was the perfect fit for him. Since then, Oli has been combining his personal knowledge of subtitles with the expert knowledge of Stagetext and top subtitlers.
