Mobile Video Production

26th March 2020 @ 10:00 am - 4:30 pm

 What is it about?

This Masterclass explores the skills required to create short form video using just your mobile device.

In the digital age, engaging video content helps you to stand out in a saturated market. Long gone are the days where you need expensive equipment and studio editing time, instead you can reduce costs by learning how to create engaging video in-house with your smartphone or tablet.

During this practical training day, led by Mobile Technologist Christian you will:

— discover best practice video techniques
— learn how to capture clear audio
— discover how to structure a narrative for your video,
— explore which equipment works best,
— receive an introduction to editing

What will I gain?

— Confidence to build and share a video narrative

— Insights into current techniques and how to use these yourself

— Practical tools to take away and implement in your organisation

Who is it for?

Anyone with a basic understanding of the camera on their phone and who wants to make more of this tool through the creation of short form video.

How do I take part?

To take part in the practical elements of this training, please bring a fully charged phone and download either the iOS apps VRP7, Storyline by Arcivr, SwitcherGo and iMovie or the Android apps Free slideshow maker, Adobe Premiere clip, FilmoraGo and Kinemaster. The iPhone is the focus of the session but Android users can attend if they are happy that some of the apps mentioned are not available on their platform

Speaker

Christian Payne | Mobile Technologist | Documentally

Christian Payne is a Creative Technologist: an elusive job description that at any moment can include photographer, writer, documentarian and story-teller. Never content to simply tell a tale, Christian consults and trains others on how best to find their own voices and which tried, tested and emerging technologies are available to amplify them.

His work takes him to every corner of the globe, often with news agencies, occasionally just ahead of them, using a unique and diverse skill-set to highlight the plight of refugees, put politicians on the spot and always find the story behind the headline.

Christian brain dumps into a weekly newsletter as well as at @Documentally
