Can You Hear Me? — reaching Deaf Audiences
17th January 2019 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
What is it about?
There is an assumption that Deaf people have the same cultural norms as hearing people. For Deaf people, whose first or preferred language is BSL, cultural norms are different — just as they are for others who do not have English as their first language.
This online workshop will focus on how to build bridges to reach your Deaf audiences and where to place your marketing messages.
You’ll learn how best to incorporate this in your marketing strategy — online and physically, and most importantly, it will allow you to start an honest conversation about Access within your organisation.
There will be case studies and practical elements throughout this online training.
What will I gain?
— Knowledge of the correct symbols, logos and language to use
— Confidence to ask questions to Deaf audiences and about Deaf audiences
— Top tips to formulate a more holistic approach to Access
Who is it for?
Marketers who want to focus on Access at a strategic and/or practical level.
How do I take part?
We will be using an online training platform called WebEx for this event. Before booking, please complete our online training checklist to ensure you get the most out of this training.
