Bursaries help make our events more affordable for individuals and organisations who might not otherwise be able to get involved. 

Thanks to support from organisations across the arts, heritage and cultural sector there are 22 bursaries available that cover the full cost of an in-person AMA Conference 2024 delegate place.

You can find the details of these bursaries below, including links to the simple online application forms. We have also included information on other grants that can be applied for, to help cover your delegate cost.

Please note: these bursaries are currently only available for in-person Conference places, and not for Conference Online. The additional grants listed can be used towards Conference Online.

Creu Cymru Bursaries

Creu Cymru will provide 4 bursaries that cover the full cost of a delegate place at Conference Online — this year’s digital Conference offer. Two of these bursaries are exclusively available to small organisations.

Applications are open to both AMA members and non-members, working for organisations across the cultural sector. 

All applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • You are a member of Creu Cymru
  • You are an individual or organisation working in Wales

Association of Independent Museums logo

Association of Independent Museums Training Grants

The Association of Independent Museums (AIM) offer training grants to support member museums to develop the skills and expertise of their workforce, both paid and voluntary.

AIM training grants offer up to £350 towards the attendance of training opportunities both in-person and online. They are open to AIM members and can be used towards fees, accommodation and environmentally sensitive travel.

These grants are open on a rolling basis, with applications due by the end of each calendar month.

Arts Council of Wales Logo

Arts Council of Wales Bursaries

Arts Council of Wales will provide 6 bursaries that cover the full cost of an AMA Conference 2024 delegate place — 3 of which are exclusively for small organisations/freelancers.  

As part of this bursary offer, Arts Council of Wales will also cover up to £200 towards accommodation and travel fees. 

Applications are open to both AMA members and non-members, working for organisations across the cultural sector.    

To apply for an Arts Council of Wales bursary, you must meet the following criteria:   

  • Applicants must be working as an arts freelancer based in Wales or in an arts organisation based in Wales

Art Fund Logo

Art Fund Bursaries

Art Fund will provide 10 bursaries that cover the full cost of an AMA Conference 2024 delegate place.

Art Fund bursaries are open to both AMA members and non-members, working for museums, galleries or historic places, including in a freelance capacity.

To apply for an Art Fund bursary, you must meet the following criteria:   

  • You work at a UK museum, gallery and/or historic place

house southeast theatre network will provide 3 bursaries that cover the full cost of AMA Conference 2024.

These bursaries are available to freelancers, individual marketers, and people working for small organisations who are part of the house network.

house southeast theatre network particularly welcomes applications from diverse-led organisations, from D/deaf, disabled and neurodivergent individuals, those with ethnically and culturally diverse backgrounds and venues in Priority or Levelling Up for Culture Places.

Substrakt Bursary

Substrakt will provide a bursary that covers the full cost of AMA Conference 2024.

Applications are open to both AMA members and non-members, working for organisations across the cultural sector including in a freelance capacity.

All applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • You identify as a woman or non-binary person  
  • You are D/deaf, disabled, or neurodivergent 
  • You are from an ethnically diverse background 
  • You work in/for an organisation committed to diversifying the arts and cultural sector
