Bursaries help make our events more affordable for individuals and organisations who might not otherwise be able to get involved

Thanks to support from organisations across the arts, heritage and cultural sector there are up to 24 bursaries available that cover the full cost of an in-person AMA Conference 2026 delegate place.

Art Fund Logo

Art Fund Bursaries

Art Fund will provide 4 bursaries that cover the full cost of an AMA Conference 2026 delegate place.

As well as covering the full cost of your delegate place, Art Fund will consider offering additional support for travel and accommodation. This additional support will be offered on a case-by-case basis, and you can apply for this as part of your bursary application.

Art Fund bursaries are open to both AMA members and non-members, working for museums, galleries or historic places, including in a freelance capacity.

To apply for an Art Fund bursary, you must meet the following criteria:   

  • You work at a UK museum, gallery and/or historic place

Arts Council of Wales Logo

Arts Council of Wales Bursaries

Arts Council of Wales will provide up to 8 bursaries that cover the full cost of AMA Conference 2026, plus up to £500 towards your travel and accommodation costs.

Applications are open to both AMA members and non-members, working for organisations across the cultural sector.

To apply for an Arts Council of Wales bursary, you must meet the following criteria:   

  • Individual applicants must be working as an arts freelancer based in Wales or in an arts organisation based in Wales

Basker logo

Basker Bursaries

Basker will provide 1 bursary that covers the full cost of an AMA Conference 2026 delegate place, exclusively available to those working for a small organisation.

Applications are open to both AMA members and non-members, working for organisations across the cultural sector. 

All applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Actively work in a role with direct involvement in website management or other digital products. If you currently undertake these duties as part of a larger role, please indicate this in your submission

Museums Galleries Scotland logo

Museums Galleries Scotland Bursaries

Museums Galleries Scotland will provide up to 7 bursaries that covers the full cost of an AMA Conference 2026 delegate place.

Applications are open to both AMA members and non-members, working or volunteering for museums or galleries in Scotland. 

Museums Galleries Scotland will prioritise applications based on the following:

  • You work or volunteer for an independent or local authority / ALEO-run museum or gallery. 
  • You work or volunteer in a role that helps contribute towards the marketing of your museum or gallery.
  • You are from a culturally and/or ethnically diverse background (including, but not limited to, the 9 protected characteristics identified by the Equality Act 2010: age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation)

Please note: Museums Galleries Scotland will award a maximum of 1 bursary per organisation.

Creative Scotland logo

Creative Scotland Bursaries

Creative Scotland will provide up to 6 bursaries that covers the full cost of an AMA Conference 2026 delegate place, in addition to travel, accommodation and subsistence support.

All applicants must work in an arts and/or cultural organisation in Scotland and must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Be a Deaf, disabled or neurodivergent individual
  • Be a freelancer for whom this work is their main source of income
  • Work for a small organisation with fewer than 10 employees and/or a turnover of less than £350,000
  • Work for a diverse-led or disabled-led organisation that prioritises equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Be working from or living in a rural or remote location

Spektrix Logo

Spektrix Bursaries

Spektrix will provide 3 bursaries that cover the full cost of an AMA Conference 2026 delegate place.

Spektrix bursaries are open to anyone working in the arts, culture and heritage sector who needs financial support to attend the AMA Conference event. This includes both AMA members and non-members.

Spektrix particularly encourage applications from people belonging to groups historically underrepresented in arts marketing including but not limited to disabled and/or neurodivergent individuals and members of underrepresented racial and ethnic groups.

Substrakt logo

Substrakt will provide 1 bursary that covers the full cost of an AMA Conference 2026 delegate place.

Applications are open to both AMA members and non-members, working for organisations across the cultural sector including in a freelance capacity.

All applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • You identify as a woman or non-binary person  
  • You are D/deaf, disabled, or neurodivergent 
  • You are from an ethnically diverse background 
  • You work in/for an organisation committed to diversifying the arts sector

Museum Development Network North

Museum Development Network North Grants

Museum Development Network North opens on 1 April 2026.

All applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Individuals (including volunteers and freelancers) who work in and with museums in the North of England.
  • Organisations operating museums that are Accredited with Arts Council England or Working Towards Accreditation with Arts Council England and located in the north of England.

Museum Development Network SE

Museum Development Network South East opens on 13 April 2026.

All applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • If you are applying as an individual museum, you must an eligible museum within Arts Council England’s South East region.  
  • If you are applying as a network, your organisation must be based within Arts Council England’s South East region and it must include membership from at least one eligible museum
  • If you are applying as a partnership, the lead organisation must be an eligible museum within Arts Council England’s South East region, and the other organisations must also be based in the South East region.
