Socials & networking

We love showing off our host city each year at the annual AMA conference. This year is no different and we’re excited to offer a range of social events for you to experience in NewcastleGateshead.

AMA social events are included in the price of your conference ticket unless otherwise stated and this also includes your food and drink for the evening.

Tuesday 9 July

BALTIC 7.30pm — 10.30pm
Did you know that 63% of people visit a gallery or museum specifically to de-stress?

AMA conference 2019 will open with a social event at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art in partnership with Art Fund. You’ll be welcomed to NewcastleGateshead at one of the region’s iconic museums and galleries, with an evening themed around wellbeing to help you relax into the conference.

Expect delicious fresh food, mindful gallery tours and a chance to unwind with a mini massage or spot of yoga overlooking the River Tyne. The opening night social of the conference will bring all our delegates together. It’s a great chance to meet new people and share experiences in a relaxed environment.

Art Fund are championing museums and galleries as a great untapped wellbeing resource and are offering all delegates an exclusive National Art Pass for one month. For the week of AMA conference and beyond they hope you too can find time to enjoy what’s around you and experience the benefits that museums and galleries across the UK have to offer everyone.

BALTIC is one of the partner venues in Art Fund’s National Art Pass network of museums and galleries and offers 10% off in their shop with a National Art Pass.
