AMA conference 2019 — bursaries

We want as many of you as possible to come to AMA conference 2019 — Rewire: Culture, Audiences and You. There are thirty five bursaries available to open up the opportunity to a range of people.

AMAculturehive and the AMA will provide 30 AMA conference 2019 bursaries for people from diverse backgrounds, diverse-led organisations, in the early stages of their careers, leadership roles or from museums and heritage organisations.

This bursary will cover nearly 50% of your delegate cost. If your application is successful, you’ll only need to contribute £278 + VAT towards your place (you’ll need to fund your own travel and accommodation).

To be considered for a bursary you must work in the cultural sector, you must not have attended an AMA conference before and you must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • You are within the first three years of your career within the cultural sector.
  • You are working in a leadership role (i.e. at Head of Department, Director, Managing Director, CEO level) within the cultural sector.
  • You are working within a museum, gallery or heritage organisation.
  • You come from a diverse background.
  • You work for a diverse-led organisation.

The AMA will provide ten AMA conference 2019 bursaries for people working as freelancers or for small organisations.

This AMA bursary will cover over 60% of your delegate cost. If your application is successful, you’ll only need to contribute £190 + VAT towards your place (you’ll need to fund your own travel and accommodation).

To be considered for a bursary you must work in the cultural sector, you must not have attended an AMA conference before and you must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • You working freelance in the cultural sector, it’s your main source of income and you’re earning less than £25,000 per year.
  • You are working in a small organisation with 10 staff or less and a turnover of less than £632,000 or £316,000 or less on its balance sheet.

Arts Council of Wales are providing 4 bursaries for AMA conference 2019. Each bursary will cover over three quarters of your delegate cost. If your application is successful, you’ll only need to contribute £100 + VAT towards your place. You will also need to fund your own travel and accommodation.

All applicants must be working in Wales and must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Individuals who have worked in the arts for less than 5 years.
  • Individuals who have not previously attended an AMA conference.
  • Individuals representing smaller organisations.

Please note: in the event of us receiving a greater number of applications than places available, the Arts Council of Wales will make a comparative assessment of all applications received to assess their fit with published priorities. Museum Development East Midlands logo

Museum Development East Midlands will provide one AMA conference 2019 bursary to cover 100% of your delegate cost. If your application is successful, you’ll only need to fund your own travel and accommodation.

All applicants must be from an Accredited Museum or from one which is working towards Accreditation in the East Midlands area and must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Individuals who have worked in the cultural sector for less than 5 years.
  • Individuals who have not previously attended an AMA conference.
