Our next online workshop, The World of SEO — making your website work harder, introduces and expands upon an essential part of any organisation’s digital tool kit.
Below, workshop speaker Daniel Rowles gives a taste of why it is an essential subject and what you will get out of his session:
1. Why is it important to use SEO?
You need to be found when a user searches, and without a good knowledge of SEO, you won’t be. Search is the single most important digital channel and offers a return on investment that is dramatically better than any other digital channel. Simple mistakes in SEO can have a dramatic impact on your visibility in the search engines.
2. Are there any particular barriers to using SEO?
There are very few barriers to effective SEO. Even free and widely used content management systems like WordPress make SEO easy. Along with a broad set of free tools, this means that SEO is accessible to everyone and it doesn’t require technical knowledge to implement it effectively.
3. What is the first piece of advice you would offer someone who is starting their SEO journey?
Understand your target audience and the different stages of the user journey. You can then start the process of working out how they will be searching and how you can optimise your websites.
4. What do you hope delegates will get out of this workshop?
A practical hands-on knowledge of SEO that can be taken away and used straight away.
