Sara Devine is the Director of Digital Engagement at the Brooklyn Museum. She is co-leading the Museum’s Bloomberg Connects project, which includes the ASK Brooklyn Museum app. A vocal visitor advocate, her expertise lies in crafting accessible and engaging visitor experiences. She works with curators, designers, educators, technologists, and visitor services staff on all aspects of interpretation and engagement.
Sara is also an adjunct professor at Pratt Institute’s School of Information for their new graduate program in Museums and Digital Culture. She enjoys sharing ideas and learnings as a guest lecturer at NYU’s Museums Studies graduate program, at professional conferences, and via the Museum’s blog. She was previously Senior Content Developer and Project Manager at Hilferty, a museum planning and exhibition design firm in Ohio, where she developed comprehensive interpretative master plans and exhibitions for a wide variety of museums. She has also worked as the Assistant Curator, Special Exhibitions at Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello and as a Curatorial Assistant at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.
