Oluwatoyin Odunsi is a freelance multidisciplinary venue and festival programmer, an interdisciplinary arts producer, tour booker, theatre director and DJ; specialising in combined arts covering theatre, circus, dance, music, comedy, film and live art.
Oluwatoyin is currently working on projects for both Vintage Misfits Production Company as Artistic Director and for One Dance UK as the (Dance of the African Diaspora) DAD North Programmer. Oluwatoyin’s interdisciplinary practise has always been about exploring new ways where artists, audiences and spaces can have a dialogue together, creating alternative stories for new audiences.
Oluwatoyin has worked for a range of arts organisations as a Senior Programmer and Producer, she was the Associate Producer for The Hat Factory, Luton from 2012 – 2014 where amongst may creative projects, she developed a one day disability festival called ‘Platform East’ for emerging and established artists from the South East region.
As an Arts Development Manager at the Drum Arts Centre, Birmingham from 2005-2010 she developed the West Midlands theatre playwright programme ‘Stage It’ for Black and South Asian playwrights; she also worked in partnership with the Royal Court Theatre, London and Belgrade Theatre, Coventry as part of the Critical Mass playwright development programme in the West Midlands 2008-2010.
At the moment Oluwatoyin is currently working on several UK and international creative projects in the areas of dance theatre, comedy and film with the aim of touring these productions in 2017/2018. Oluwatoyin’s focus has always been about creating platform spaces to showcase different voices, from everyday people who are not normally seen on stage and continues to develop this creative process and artistic goal.
