Ali Hanan is founder and CEO of Creative Equals, an organisation set up to address equality in the creative industries. She worked for the last 16 years as a copy/creative director at some of the largest advertising agencies, but along the way noticed little was changing in terms of diversity. Her research showed just 12% of creative directors in London are women.
She worked on Creative Equals as a ‘side project’, then gave up her job in September last year to turn it into a full-time job. Now most of the industry’s top agencies, including BBH, JWT, R/GA, AKQA, Mr President, AMVBBDO and more have signed up to their 50:50 kitemark.
