Julie Aldridge, Consultant
Julie is a consultant specialising in business planning, marketing strategy, and organisational development.
She works with a diverse mix of clients from across the arts, heritage and cultural sector. Supporting leaders and teams to devise new strategies to achieve their ambitions during a time of rapid change.
Prior to becoming a consultant, Julie was Executive Director of the Arts Marketing Association (AMA) for over 11 years. She has extensive experience in developing high impact training and professional development. She devised, developed and is a core trainer on the Future Proof Museums programme; led AMA retreats: strategic marketing planning and leadership residentials; and has recently launched cultural sector academies focused on innovation and experimentation.
Mark Wright, Learning design consultant and facilitator
Mark Wright helps people become more effective leaders and constructive team players. With a background in creativity and leadership development in the UK arts sector and one of the world’s largest accountancy firms, he draws upon his diverse experience to create innovative solutions for clients such as Vodafone, Dyson, BASF, Takeda Pharmaceuticals, British Council Australia and a host of smaller charities and arts organisations.
Recently he has had the privilege of working with amazing people in the UK, Switzerland, China, India, Brazil, Finland, USA, Australia, Bahrain, Singapore and Lebanon, designing and delivering leadership programmes, team interventions and focussed learning projects.
Mel Larsen, Consultant, Mel Larsen and Associates
Mel has worked in the arts across the UK and abroad for over 20 years. Her adventures have included being Administrator for pioneering touring company Black Mime Theatre, Marketing Officer for Talawa Theatre Company and full-time consultant with A.R.T.S. As an independent marketing consultant since 1999 her clients have included Arts Council England, Australian Arts Council, CARIFORUM, The British Council, StillArt Sweden and MLA London.
Her training, speaking and consultancy work has taken her to many different parts of the world including, South Africa, the Caribbean, Scandinavia and the Netherlands.
She is author of A Practical Guide to working with Arts Ambassadors published by Arts Council England. She also founded the community-led Streatham Festival and was Artistic Director for five years (2002-2006, for which she received a Lambeth Civic Award) and was Director of the first Streatham Food Festival in 2009.
Susan Royce, Change management consultant
Susan J Royce is an independent consultant and chartered accountant working in the cultural sector. She works with clients to develop and deliver business models that are socially valuable and financially viable. Her work focuses on business strategy, change management and governance development.
After reading History at Cambridge, she trained with the public sector practice of Deloitte, Haskins & Sells and qualified in 1991. From 1991 to 2000 she specialised in corporate recovery work with PricewaterhouseCoopers. In 2000 she left the City to establish her own consulting practice.
Susan has worked with organisations from across the arts and cultural sector; acted as a lead consultant for Arts Council England’s major change programmes: Stabilisation, Recovery, Thrive and Sustain, and regularly leads workshops in the UK and overseas on business modelling, strategy development and change.
