Future Proof Museums Fellowships

Working with as diverse a group of people as we can is an important and a core goal the AMA is currently working towards. We are doing all we can to ensure that participants on our programmes who are BAME, disabled, or identify as LGBTQ, for example, are not overlooked or under-valued. As such, we are working with diversity experts to ensure Future Proof Museums attracts and is available to applicants from a diverse range of backgrounds.

Future Proof Museums Fellows are from a diverse range of backgrounds and currently working in a senior management position in a museum, or as a freelancer or consultant within the sector. Fellow are invited to take part in all three stages of the programme, alongside Museum Directors and CEOs.

The programme

Stage One: Learning materials and Skype call
You will be offered a selection of materials to give you an introduction to the Business Model Canvas – the main tool explored in Stage Two. You will also receive a Skype call with one of our expert trainers to talk through your understanding of the canvas in relation to your organisation (or one you work with, if freelance).

Stage Two: An intensive residential programme
This three-day intensive residential programme gives you the opportunity to learn an effective change management toolkit alongside the cohort of CEO participants.

Stage Three: On-going mentoring and support
You will receive three coaching sessions with our expert trainers to help you explore how to drive thinking forward in your museum following the residential, and to help plan a route to achieving your future ambition in the sector. We are also hoping to offer visits to one or more of the participating museums during one of their Stage Three in-house training sessions (tbc during the residential).
