What is it about?

Ready to snap if one more person suggests that in order to reach “new audiences” (code for Millennials) you host HappyHourPromotedHashtagFlashMobPopUpDeepTransmedia-centricBrandedSelfiethon? Because – what’s the point? Who are you trying to engage and why?

Disrupt this vicious arts marketing and audience engagement cycle at Eff-Up the Pop-Up. During this highly participatory session, you will gain insight into different engager types and “hack” creative activism tactics to generate new approaches for connecting with broader audience communities. A small digital ‘zine part will be produced at this creative session and will be shared among participants.

What will I gain?

  • Knowledge of creative activism tactics and how these could apply to audience development.
  • Space to be playful and re-visit familiar conversations in a new light.
  • Inspiration from your peers, their work and ideas relating to how to engage new audiences.

Who is it for?

This session is for delegates looking to find new, authentic ways of engaging audiences. Join if you’re ready push the limits of your own practice, exercise agility, experiment playfully but without fear, and want to diverge from the ‘traditional’ conference format.
