AMA Conference 2007

The GuardianTickets.comNational Museums of ScotlandNational Theatre of ScotlandScottish Arts Council
  Tailor Made

Thematically the conference worked perfectly... Socials relaxed and friendly. I really feel empowered by the last couple of days. Roll on 2007.'

Ed Newsome, Marketing Officer (Campaigns), Welsh National Opera, after AMA conference 2006.

Just because fashion editors are always saying stuff like 'Im so loving The High Street' or 'Baby-doll Goth Rocks Right Now' does that mean that we all hot foot it to Gap or pull on the nearest cobwebbed rah-rah skirt?

Of course not.

Off the peg fashion and dubious trends might have their place but imagine if all your clothes were tailor-made specifically to suit you – unflattering lines, banished; tripping over the legs of your trousers, gone forever; being laughed at by better dressed 'tweenies', over!

  What's right for you?

Well, the same could be said for marketing strategies – what might be the perfect marketing approach or campaign for one organisation could be an absolute disaster for yours. Similarly, do your audiences or visitors want to be marketed at as if they are a homogenous mass or would they respond more favourably to being communicated with? Create your own style and assess what will work best for you, your organisation and your stakeholders at Tailor Made, the AMA conference 2007.

  What's it about

Tailor Made will help you select and adapt marketing strategies and tactics that take account of your resources and so give you a better chance to get the results you want and need. A combination of practical and hands-on sessions with more ideas-led discussion seminars means that whatever your experience and knowledge of the arts there will be something to suit you.

You will be able to adapt the programme to explore your individual interests whether that is to improve your marketing practice or to take part in debate about how current trends (the demand for participation and co-created product for example) might / will alter the industry. The blend of speakers from within and outside the arts will give a rounded view of current practice which will appeal to those in
- marketing
- management
- audience development
- press and pr
- box office or customer service

  People, people, people

Tailor Made is not just about being motivated by the ideas, experience and knowledge of the speakers, its also about being inspired by your peers. Meet up and share ideas with hundreds of arts professionals that want to hear what everyone else is up to.
