Developing young audiences for the arts

EPEmma Parsons is a freelance consultant working with arts and heritage organisations to put audiences at the heart of their planning. After 6 years as Head of Marketing and PR at Imperial War Museum North, Emma set up her own business to deliver strategic thinking, project management and business planning.

During April 2012 she will be leading AMA workshops on 'A fresh approach to reaching and engaging young people'  and will also be speaking at the Museums and Heritage Show at Earls Court in May. In this blog post Emma provides a preview of what delegates might expect.

 

Expect the unexpected

I have been working with a number of arts organisations over the last couple of years who wanted to develop their young audience. And just to be sure, we’re talking 14 to 25 year olds. Not always perceived as the easiest audience to target.
